Floaters vs consultants

In preparing for Fall semester and Phase II of the Innovation Incubator, I feel that going with the role of consultant may be better than the role of floater for the non assigned faculty.

Keeping up on three team blogs, being prepared for three different discussions and thinking about the details of all the projects may be too much work when combined with other duties. May we consider assigning the "floaters" to the teams they worked with in Ithaca. As a result, each team would have two full time faculty members. Any faculty member could be "invited" by another team to consult with them on specific issues concerning their project.

What are your thoughts?
If we keep the floater, can the role be simplified?

Darcy, I think that makes a lot of sense. I kind of like having "joint" custody with you of the team, and they seem to want that also. It puts an eensy bit of stability into this process for the students, which doesn't hurt.
And I think it is easier on us, because it lets us focus. I personally spend an awful lot of time feeling like an ADD pinball (life in general, class preps and a cross-country commute next week in specific) and think focus is good.
Can we also consider the notion of resuming faculty meetings via conference call every other week or so?

I am in complete agreement with Darcy's proposal (and Charlotte-Anne's additional comments). I underestimated how much material would need to be culled through on the three blogs with 10 teams members each now posting. I am happy to stay with Kim, although I will not be present at this Sunday's Webinar call with Team Devastator due to a 5-day vacation with my family in the cell-tower-less Northeast Kingdom of VT. I'm "back in the saddle" on 8/16.
